An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht reporting that the German cruiser ‘E’ was baptized Coromoran and launched in May. She resembled in many ways the Bussard, was steel built doubled with wood and coppered. Displacement 1.600 tons, horsepower 2.700 ihp and a designed speed of 16 miles. The armament consisted of 8-10cm guns and 5 machine guns.(1)

1. Unprotected cruiser of the Bussard-class. Laid down in 1890, launched on 17 May 1892, commissioned on 25 July 1893 and scuttled at Tsingtau, China on 28 September 1914. Major part of her armament was used for defending the German concession there while her crew went on board of the German auxiliary cruiser Cormoran (the former Russian steamship Ryazan).
