Japanese navy building larger destroyers than 386 ton Yarrow types according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1907-1908 No. 11
An item referred to the Revue Maritime reporting that the Japanese navy wanted to have larger destroyers then the around 386 ton Yarrow types. There were 4 ocean going destroyers ordered of which already one was being built at Sasebo, Japan. Displacement 890 ton and a length of 91,5 metres, a horsepower of 17.600 ihp and a design speed of 34 miles. Further more were 3 destroyers with a displacement of 450 tons and as dimensions 73,2 x 6,9 metres, 7,200 ihp horsepower and a speed of 30 miles ordered.
