British submarine depot ship HMS Maidstone completed according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1911-1912 no. 3

An item reported that the submarine depot ship HMS Maidstone was the first vessel built of this kind. For designing her were the experiences with the Vulcan, Bonaventure, Forth and Cyclops used. Dimensions 360 x 45 feet. For the submarine crew were sleep- and nursery accommodations available and furthermore workshops, foundry, torpedo store and an oil storage of around 1.000 ton.(1)
