US Navy creating new squadron for the Western Pacific according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1939 no. 12

An item referred to the Japanese Chr. Dated 3 August 1939 which reported that a spokesman of the US Department of Navy correspondents of foreign magazines told that a new squadron was created with the intention to execute with the combined squadron war alike exercises. The new squadron had as main purpose to secure the control in the Western Pacific. Nothings was known which ships belonged to it.
