An item dated New York, USA 23rd reported that on 25th October 10 American battleships and around 20 destroyers would depart from the roads of Hampton Roads towards the Mediterranean with as supreme commander admiral Badger.(1) The battleships were to stop at Gibraltar, the destroyers would bunker coal on the Azores.
