French parliament approved building 6 battleships according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1906-1907 No.4




An item referred to the magazine Marine Rundschau reporting that the French minister Thomson was allowed by the parliament to built 6-18.000 ton battleships (2) with an armament of 4-30,5cm guns, 12-24cm guns, 16-7,5cm guns, 8-4,7cm guns and 2 submerged torpedo launchers.

1. Gaston Thomson (29 January 1848 Oran, French Algeria-14 May 1832 Bône, Algeria), minister of navy 24 January 1905-22 October 1908 responsible for increasing strength French navy with capital ships and cruisers.
2. The Danton-class semi dreadnought battleship consisting of the Danton, Voltaire, Diderot, Condorcet, Mirabeaus and Vergniaud.
