Italian navy handed torpedo boats over to the customs service according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens 1896 no. 6
An item reported that by royal decision dated 8 March the Italian customs service executed with torpedo boats at the Lake Lugano and in the Lagoons of Venice was to be further increased. For this service and for the Lago Maggiore and Lago di Garda were the torpedo boats 4th class Nos. 4, 7-10, 13,15-16, 20 and 21 T and the White launches V, VII and XIV permanently handed over to the Department of Finances. The navy was ordered to handed over another 3 torpedo boats if needed. The navy personnel on board of the torpedo boats was to be replaced in time by personnel of the Department of Finance.
