Italian navy intended to execute large shipbuilding program according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens 1896 nr. 4

An item reported that Italy intended to built more protected cruisers, 2 torpedo cruisers and a large number of torpedo boats. The torpedo boats were to built at La Spezia, the other ships at Castellamare and private owned shipyards.
