Dutch schooner brig Zr. Ms. Sylph stationed off Macassar, Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Nederlandsche Staatscourant 14 April 1859

An item reported that the Dutch schooner brig Zr. Ms. Sylph on 19 November 1858 returned from her station in the Koetie river in the roads of Macassar, Dutch East Indies coming from Samarinda, Dutch East Indies. On board were 3 natives robbed off Mandhar, Dutch East Indies from their prows and further belongings.

Brigantine, laid down at the shipyard of De Jongh, Kortland en Anthony at Rotterdam, Netherlands in 1837, launched on 6 May 1837, bought by the navy in 1841, sold in the Dutch East Indies in 1842, rebought in May 1846, mostly renewed at the towing slip at Onrust, Dutch East Indies in 1850, probably sold on public auction on Saturday 28 April 1861, dimensions 28,5 x 8,7 x 3,15 metres, displacement 252 tons and an armament of 5 guns.
