French submarines fitted out with international signal flags according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1914 nos. 1-2

An item referred to the an order of the French minister fated 21 October 1913 reporting that the submarines with a displacement of 500 ton or more were to be fitted out with international signal flags with dimensions similar of the ones used on board of torpedo boats. Smaller submarines were fitted out with just the flags ‘N’, ‘C’ and ‘H’ and the light signals according to the international codex for the prescribed emergency signals or to stop ships and further communication with these ships.
