Russian Black Sea Fleet in German hands would disturb balance in the Mediterranean according to the Dutch newspaper De Tijd dated 10 April 1918

An item Berlin, Germany 9th reported that the balance in the Mediterranean  could change completely if the Russian Black Sea fleet of 8 battleships, 25 destroyers and 12 submarines was captured by the Germans which gained in that manner more or less the control over the eastern part of the Mediterranean.
