US Navy converting battleships and armoured cruisers into troop transports according to the Dutch newspaper De grondwet dated 17 February 1918

An item dated New York, USA 13^th reported that 14 battleships and 10 armoured cruisers of the US Navy were converted into troop transports to pick bring together with 44 transports the American soldiers back from France. Each battleships was to transport 1.000 men and the cruisers each 1.600 men while the transports were used for the sick and wounded men.
