HMS Marlborough
An item dated London, England 10th reported that the British fleet at Malta was ordered to go immediately towards Constantinople, Turkey.(1) Among the ships were the battleship Marlborough (2) and the destroyers Stomne (3), Swallow (4), Seraph (5) and Serapis (6)included. A flotilla of 6 ships left also the western Mediterranean with as destination the Bosporus.

1 At that moment was the Turkish War of Independence between 19 May 1919-11 October 1922 although there was an armistice still unfinished. Not earlier as on 24 July 1923 was with the Treaty of Lausanne peace. Their opponents of the Ottoman Sultanate were Armenia, Greece, England, Italy and France. The locations of the acts were was Anatolia, North Mesopotamia and Thrace.
2. Of the Iron Duke-class consisting of the Iron Duke, Marlborough, Benbow and Emperor of India. Preceded by the King George V-class and succeeded by the Queen Elizabeth-class. Laid down at the Devonport Dockyard on 25 January 1912, launched on 24 October 1912, completed and commissioned in June 1914, removed from active service in 1929, for disposal since May 1932, sold to the Alloa Shipbreaking Company to be broken up in 1932 and arrived for this purpose at Rosyth, Scotland on 25 June 1932.
3. The S-class destroyer Somme, launched at Fairfield on 10 September 1918 and sold on 25 August 1932.
4. S-class destroyer, launched at Scotts on 1 August 1918 and broken up in 1936.
5. S-class destroyer, launched at Denny on 8 July 1918 and sold on 4 May 1934.
6. S-class destroyer, launched at Denny on 17 September 1918 and sold on 25 January 1934.
