British warships redrawn of eastern part of the Mediterranean according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 21 March 1923

An item dated Malta 12th reported that the British battleship Malaya (1) and the light cruisers Curacao (2) and Cambrian (3) were redrawn from the eastern waters and expected to arrive on the 15th. From Malta was the destination Gibraltar and join the Atlantic Fleet again. The battleship Iron Duke (4) returned from the Dardanelles.(5)

1, Of the Queen-Elizabeth-class consisting of the Queen Elizabeth, Malaya, Warspite, Valiant, Barham, Malaya and the in 1914 cancelled Agincourt. Preceded by the Iron Duke-class and succeeded by the Revenge-class. Pennant 01. Laid down at Armstrong Whitworth and Company, High Walker, Tyneside, England on 20 October 1913, launched on 18 March 1915, commissioned on 1 February 1916, in reserve since end of 1943, used as target in Loch Striven 15/17 May 1944, decommissioned to be used if needed as bombardment battleship, decommissioned becoming accommodation ship for torpedo school  end 1944 and sold to Metal Industries on 20 February 1948 and broken up at Faslane, Scotland in 1948.
2. Light cruiser, launched at Pembroke Dock on 5 May 1917 and sunk as a result of a collision with the RMS Queen Mary off Ireland on 2 October 1942. A C-class light cruiser especially of the Ceres sub-class.
3. Light cruiser, launched at Pembroke Dock on 3 March 1916 and sold on 28 July 1934. Of the Cambrian sub-class cruisers.
4. Of the Iron Duke-class consisting of the Iron Duke, Marlborough, Benbow and Emperor of India. Preceded by the King George V-class and succeeded by the Queen Elizabeth-class. Laid down at the Portsmouth Dockyard on 12 January 1912, launched on 12 October 1912, completed in March 1914, removed from active service becoming a training ship in 1929, depot ship at Scapa Flow since 1939, damaged during an German air attack on 17 October 1939, after repairs beached still in service, sold to the Metal Industries be broken up in 1946. Resold in September 1948 brought towards Glasgow, Scotland and arrived there on 30 November 1948.
5. At that moment was the Turkish War of Independence between 19 May 1919-11 October 1922 although there was an armistice still unfinished. Not earlier as on 24 July 1923 was with the Treaty of Lausanne peace. Their opponents of the Ottoman Sultanate were Armenia, Greece, England, Italy and France. The locations of the acts were was Anatolia, North Mesopotamia and Thrace.
