Crews of Russian battleships in the Baltic refused to demobilize according to the Dutch newspaper De Tijd dated 2 April 1918

An item dated Berlin, Germany 1st referred to tidings received from Libau [Liepãja, Latvia] reporting that the crews of the Russian battleships in the Baltic apparently refused to obey the demobilisation orders. The ship committees sent a telegram to the Council of people’s commissars at Moscow, Russia in which they protested against the disarmament of their ships by men from the Red Guards. They even threatened with public opposition.
