Dutch screw steamship 3rd class Reinier Claeszen stationed off Sumatra, Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Nederlandsche staatscourant 7 July 1866


An item referred to tidings dated 14th May 1866 dealing with the movements of the Dutch squadron in the Dutch East Indies reported that the Dutch screw steamship 3rd class Reinier Claeszen captain lieutenant N.M.J. Kroef was stationed at the east coast of Sumatra, Dutch East Indies. She cruised starting from Palembang towards Muntol, Toboali and Tandjong Berikat to search for pirates.(1)
