Russian gunboat Khrabryy 1894-1922 and Krasnoye Znamya 1922-1960


Laid down on 27 December 1894, launched on 21 November 1895, part of the Soviet navy since 30 December 1922, renamed Krasnoye Znamya, sunk by Finnish motor torpedo boats in the harbour of Lavansaari, Gulf of Finland on 18 November 1942, salvaged on 13 November 1943, decommissioned on 17 September 1944 and stricken in 1960,

Displacement 1.735 tons and as dimensions 72,26 x 13,1 x 3,35 metres or 237.1’x 43’ x 11.0’. The machinery consisted of two vertical triple steam expansion engines and 8 Niclausse boilers supplying via 2 shafts 2.100 -2.640 (design forced) hp allowing a speed of 14,5-16 (design) knots. The range was with a coal bunker capacity of 100 (normal)-130 maximum) tons and a speed of 14 respectively 7 knots 600 and 1.050 nautical miles. Her crew numbered 165-201 men. The original armament consisted of 2-8” 45 cal guns, 1-6” /45 gun, 10 smaller calibre quick firing guns and 1 surfaced torpedo tube in the bow. Harvey armour consisted of a 5” thick belt, 1” (flat on it)-1,5” (ends) deck and a 3,5” thick bulkhead.
