Dutch guard ship Gedeh arrived at Tandjong Priok, Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Java-bode dated 30 January 1889

An item reported that the Dutch guard ship Gedeh (1) captain Weijs arrived that morning safely at Tandjong Priok, Dutch East Indies while towed by the Zr. Ms. Bandjarmasin (2) captain Landweer. She arrived on the 30th at Batavia coming from Surabaya, Dutch East Indies.

2. Bandjermassin, ex-Bandhermassing renamed 1880, screw steamship 4th class, call sign GQCT, composite-built and coppered, on stocks at the shipyard of the Kon. Fabriek van stoom- en andere werktuigen, Amsterdam, Netherlands in July 1873, launched on 7 April 1874, commissioned on 16 June 1874, dimensions 42-45 (over all) x 8,8 x 3,6 metres, a displacement of 730 tons, horsepower 90 hp/400 ehp, speed 9,5 miles, an armament of 3 guns (1879: 1 rifled 18cm gun, 2-12cm guns) and a crew numbering 80 men (1879). Decommissioned on 1 September 1894, stricken, condemned and sold for ƒ 10.000.
