Greek navy needed none capital battleships according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland dated 26 February 1925

An item reported that the British admiral Webb responsible for the reorganisation of the Greek navy in his final report the Greek cabinet proposed to held just small ships, torpedo boats, submarines and aircraft in service. Capital ships were of none value for Greece and he advices to cancel the building of both in France (1) and Germany (2) ordered warships.

1. The Vasilefs Konstantinos with a main armament of 10-34cm/13.4” guns, laid down at AC de St. Nazaire Penhoet, France on 12 June 1914, work stopped in August 1914 and broken up in 1925. Based on the French Bretagne-class battleships.
2. The Salamis with an main armament of 8-35cm/14” guns, laid down at AG Vulcan shipyard, Hamburg, Germany on 23 July 1913, work stopped on 31 December 1914 and finally broken up in 1932. Sometimes called Vasilefs Georgias.
