Fast British steam barge built at Dartmouth, England according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1901-1902 no. 10

An item reported that at the shipyard of the firm Simpson, Strickland&Co., Dartmouth, England was a steam barge built with as dimensions 9,14 x 1,9 metres which achieved a speed on the measured mile of 18,35 and later even 18,75 miles. The displacement was with a filled boiler 2,5 ton. The 4 cylinder quadruple steam expansion engine of the Cross Patent design supplied 140 ihp. Fitted out with a Thornycroft boiler.
