Italy building cruisers according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 9 February 1911

An item reported that half February at the shipyards at Castellamare, Italy 3 new armoured cruisers named Nino, Dixia and Marsala were to be laid down for the Italian navy. The ships were larger and heavier armed than the Austrian opponents.(1)

Note
1. There is a error in the news item. Between 1911-1914 was the Nino Bixio-class of 4.141 tons built, consisting of the Nino Bixio and the Marsala, which was somehow a failure lacking enough speed to act as scout.
