Austrian large battleship Tegethoff nearly completed according to the Dutch magazine Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1913-1914 no. 2


An item reported that the second Austrian large battleship Tegethoff was nearly completed. At the end of February left she Trieste towards Pola [Pula, Croatia] for executing her trials. Afterwards was she immediately to be commissioned.(1)

1. Part of the Tegethoff-class consisting of the Tegethoff, Viribus Unitis, Prinz Eugen and Szent István, preceded by the Radetzky-class and succeeded by the Ersatz Monarch-class. Designed/built as an answer on the Italian dreadnought Dante Alighieri. Building ordered in 1908. Laid down at the Stabilimento Tecnico Triestino yard, Trieste, Italy on 24 September 1910, launched on 21 March 1912, commissioned on 14 July 1913 and broken up at La Spezia, Italy between in 1924-1925.
