British battleship HMS Bellerophon underway from Gibraltar towards England according to the Dutch newspaper Bataviaasch nieuwsblad dated 29 July 1914


An item dated London, England 28th July reported that the British battleship Bellerophon was ordered to return from Gibraltar towards England.(1)

1. Laid down at the Portsmouth Dockyard on 6 December 1906, launched on 27 July 1907, commissioned on 27 February 1909, reserve in 1919 and sold to be broken up on 8 November 1921 which was executed in 1923. Building costs 1.763.491 pond sterling. Bellerophon-class dreadnoughts consisting of the Bellerophon, Superb and Temeraire preceded by the Dreadnought and succeeded by the St. Vincent-class.
