British river gunboat HMS Scarab attacked by Chinese military according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië 24 September 1926

An item dated Shanghai, China on 23rd reported that the British river gunboat Scarab on the Yangtze river around 5 miles downstream from Sjasji was attacked with rifle fire. The fire was returned with her machineguns and the 7,5cm gun.

1. Building ordered on 29th February 1915, launched by Wood Skinner, Newcastle, England on 7 October 1915, completed on 14 November 1915, paid off and in 1945, lent to the Burmese navy 1946-1947 and sold to be broken up in 1948.
