An item dated Shanghai, China 12th reported that lieutenant E.G. Welchmann commanding officer of the river gunboat Term part of the British China squadron was dismissed from his command. This was a result of an investigation executed by the court martial after he was accused that his crew lacked discipline. According to the rumours were some crewmembers replaced and prosecuted by the court martial.
