British river gunboat HMS Tern attacked by Chinese forces according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 16 April 1929

An item dated London, England 15th reported that Chinese military fired at the British river gunboat Tern on the river Yangtze and her 40 times. Three sailors and an American journalist were wounded. The Tern escorted on that moment 4 cargo vessels out of an area where Chinese military were fighting with each other. The escorted vessels were safely brought by Itsjang without that the Tern returned the fire.(1)
