Crewmembers of Swedish coastal defence ship Manligheten killed by floating explosive object according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwsblad van Friesland dated 15 December 1939

An item reported that a heavy explosion killed 7 crewmembers of the Swedish cruiser Manligätten off Vinga near Göteborg, Sweden. When a floating object resembling a football was sighted, was a boat sent to investigate it. Before the boat was near the object it exploded killing 4 man at once, wounded 3 deadly and another 10 light.(1)
