Laid down by Maatschappij De Atlas, Amsterdam, Netherlands on 30 March 1877, launched on 26 January 1878, trial on 15 June 1878, commissioned and immediately placed in reserve on 12 August 1878, served on the upper rivers like the Rijn and Waal staying during the winter at Nijmegen or Arnhem, Netherlands fitted out with new boilers made by Fijenoord in 1905 and sold for ƒ 14.065,85 to be broken up at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands to M.S. Springer, Amsterdam on 2 July 1913.Costs when first fitted out ƒ 251.230. call sign GQNV. Displacement 367,7 tons and as dimensions 48,00 (over all) x 7,65 x 1,30 metres. Horsepower 395 ihp and with the 2 screws a speed of 8 knots. Her crew numbered 37 (in later part of career)-49 men. The iron made armour consisted of a 5,1-12,7cm thick belt,, a 1,9-4,0cm thick deck with the gun turret protected by 3,2-12,7cm. Armament consisted of 2-12cm/4,72” K.A. no. 1 guns and 1-12cm/4,72” mortar.
