England and Germany harassing each other merchant and warships according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwsblad van Friesland dated Wednesday 6 September 1939

An item dated London, England 6th referred to a statement of the British department of Publicity reporting that it seems that the attacks of the British Royal Air Force on German navy ships in German waters was more successful than earlier believed. Furthermore were some British merchant ships attacked of sunk by German submarines. On the other were 3 German merchant ships suitable to be armed on the Atlantic Ocean destroyed after their crews was disembarked in safety.
