An item dated The Hague, Netherlands 29th April reported that the Dutch cabinet considered to increase the professional navy personnel with a third gang of 90 sailors each year. The annual contingent sea militiamen was not increased. The plans were made after strongly requests of the supreme commander of the navy to increase the personnel strength of the Royal Netherlands Navy and to start as soon as possible with the training. There were more men needed while in contrary to the past more ships were commissioned which caused a lacking of personnel also caused by a slower return of personnel from the Dutch East Indies.
