The British fleet program according to the Dutch newspaper De Sumatra post dated 1 May 1936

King George V-class

An item dated London, England 30th reported that under the fleet building program over 1936-1937 were to be laid down 2 battleships (1). 5 cruisers, 9 destroyers, 1 aircraft carrier, 4 submarines, 6 sloops. 2 survey ships, 2 special craft, 6 small torpedo boats, river gunboat and some auxiliary vessels. As a result of the requested supplementary budgets increased the navy budget to 80.230.000 pond sterling.
