Austrian steam corvette Dona visited Den Helder, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Heldersche en Nieuwedieper Courant dated Wednesday 8 September 1886

An item reported the arrival on Sunday of the Austrian steam frigate Donau (1) captain lieutenant R. Pogatschnigg (2) coming from Copenhagen, Denmark. She was underway for a training course with midhipmen and would stay for 8 days at Den Helder. Armament consisted of 11 guns and her crew numbered 319 men. The officers and midshipmen visited the Dutch navy yard and other maritime objects. Another newspaper ‘t Vliegend blaadje supplied the same details.

1. Screw steam corvette, laid down by Navale Adriatico, Trieste [Italy] on 18 June 1873, launched on 15 October 1874 and broken up in 1888. Machinery and other parts used for her successor a screwsteam corvette with the same name.
