British Royal Navy replaced sirens and hooters according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1910-1911 no.6

St. Vincent

An item reported that in the British Royal Navy the sirens and hooters until now fitted against the fore funnel on the St. Vincent and following dreadnoughts were to be fitted in the fore mast and on a much higher level. Practically had become clear that the bridge and the heavy tripod mast obstructed the effectiveness of the sound especially straight ahead.
