France demilitarizing naval bases according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Venlosche courant dated 26 June 1940

An item reported that as a result of the armistice between France and Italy was decided that during the war between the United Kingdom and Italy the French military and maritime defence works and the naval bases at Toulon (mainland France), Bizerte (Tunisia), Ajaccio, Corsica and Oran, Algeria were to be demilitarized within two weeks for the time being.(1)

1. Italy declared war on France on 10 June 1940 followed by an armistice signed on 24 June 1940 effective a day later.
