An item referred to the magazine Rivista Marittima dated October 1934 reporting that the Italian submarine chaser Albatross, the first of her class was nearly completed. Dimensions 72x7metres, 145 ton displacement and 1-4.500hp engine allowing a speed of 25 miles.(1)

1. Project of designing submarine chaser started in 1931, the Albatross was not a success and reclassified as torpedo boat in 1938. Laid down by CNR, Palermo, Italy in November 1931, launched on 27 May 1994, completed in November 1934 and sunk by the British submarine Upright off Messina, Italy on 27 September 1944.
