Machinery of French submarine Gymnote destroyed by incoming water according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1907-1908 no. 5

An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht reporting that when the dry dock in which the French submarine Gymnote was docked was filled, water could enter the submarine destroying the engine and batteries. The disaster could happen while some valves were insufficient closed.91)
