British forces destroyed Spanish prison hulks Castella and Argonatau according to the Edinburgh Monthly Magazine and Review, vol. 1, 1810

An item reported hat in the end of May the cables were cut of two Spanish prison hulks (the 64 guns Castella and the hulk Argonauta) with 700-800 prisoners on board mostly French officers, causing them drifting on the coast under the French batteries. British boats failed to bring the ships off. After losing 7 killed and around 30 men wounded caused by fire of the prisoners were both ships set on fire by British gunfire. Part of the prisoners was killed, other escaped by going on land.
