An item dated Tokyo, Japan 16th referred to a statement of the Japanese headquarters that since the beginning of the war Japanese submarines destroyed 65 merchant ships with a totally gross register tonnage of 440.000 tons. Of these ships were 15 ships or 101.700 tons in the Pacific Ocean included Hawaii destroyed, 15 ships 0r 96.000 tons in the South West Pacific and 35 ships with 253.000 tons on the Indian Ocean.
