Norwegian females collecting for building torpedo cruiser Valkyrjen according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 6 May 1895

An item reported that Norwegian females collected 100.000 [guilders?] making it possible to built in German a torpedo cruiser for 605.000 mark.(1)

1. The 375 tons destroyer Valkyren built by F. Schichau, Elbing, Germany in 1896, commissioned in may 1896, decommissioned in September 1920 and sold be broken up in 1923.
