Swedish submarine Sjöbjörnen sunk according to the German Deutsche Zeitung in den Niederlanden dated 19 August 1942

An item dated Stockholm, Sweden 5th reported that on the Friday evening de Swedish submarine Sjoerborren (1) in the Bough of Soedermannland collided with a Swedish merchant ship and sunk. One of her crewmembers was still missing. She was launched in 1940 with a displacement of 580 tons.

1. The Sjöbjörnen, laid down by Kockums, Malmö, Sweden in 1936, launched on 15 January 1937, completed in March 1939 was stricken in November 1964.
