An item referred to the magazine USR dated 7 September 1939 reported that war experience should decide if a gun could be used for dual purposes including as anti aircraft gun. The new 13,2cm/5.1” gun to be mounted on board of the British Dido-class cruisers was certainly more handy as the 15cm/5.9” gun and the experts estimated a salvo of 10-13,2cm shells as more value than a salvo of 6-15cm guns.
