An item referred to the magazine Proceedings dated July 1937 reporting that the USA intended to built anti aircraft vessels with a length of around 160 metres to be armed with 50 anti aircraft guns. Except for the bridge and the fire control station were no superstructures on the deck. For every division of battleships were 3 of such anti aircraft vessels to be built.
