British destroyer Nubian performed well during trial according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1909-1910 no. 6

An item referred to the magazine Schiffbau reporting that the British destroyer Nubian (1) achieved a higher speed as the contracted speed of 33 miles. She belonged to the so-called 33 miles ships (Crusador, Zulu, Maori and Viking) and was as the first of the 5 delivered by Thornycroft. Dimensions 280’ x 26.5’ x 9.4’ (medium) and a displacement of 1.000 tons, Horsepower 15.500 ihp. Hull plating and thrushes made of high tensile steel. The armament consisted of 7-4” guns and 2-45cm torpedo tubes fitted on deck.

1. Of the Tribal-class destroyers, preceded by the River-class and succeeded by the Beagle or G-class, pennants H70 and D06, laid down by Thornycroft, Woolston, England in May 1908, launched on 20 April 1909, completed in August 1909, lost her bow when she tried to ram a German destroyer on 27 October 1916, her fore ship connected to the aft ship of the Zulu resulting in the new destroyer HMS Zubian in 1917.
