Dutch floating dry dock Juliana sold to the Free City of Danzig according to the Dutch magazine Schip en Werf dated 19 August 1938

An item reported that after a long time of negotiations the floating dock Juliana of the Amsterdamsche Droogdijk Maatschappij was sold to the International Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Free City of Danzig. The dock was built by the Nederlandsche Scheepsbouw Maatschappij,, Amsterdam between 1911-1913 of steel with a lifting capacity of 16.000 ton and as dimensions 187 x 33,5 metres. She was now prepared for the voyage over sea. Dutch tugs of the firm Gebr. Goedkoop would tow her from Amsterdam towards Ijmuiden, Netherlands and from was she towed by German tugs towards Danzig.(1)

1. Built with yard number 110 on a special area along the north bank of the IJ. Dimensions 140,25 x 33,57 x 15,25 metres. Launched on 12 May 1911 around 10.00 o'clock. The newspaper De Tijd dated mentioned as dimensions 139 x 33 metres and a lifting capacity of 12.000 tons. The newspaper Bataviaasch nieuwsblad dated 15 September 1913 reported that on Tuesday 19th August 10.00 o'clock a section was launched to increase the Julianadok. Lifting capacity from 12.000 to 16.000 tons and the new length of 615 feet.
