Russian steam bucket dredger Swirj launched at Kinderdijk, Netherlands according to the Dutch magazine Schip en Werf dated 28 October 1938

An item reported the launching by L. Smit&Xoon’s  Scheeps- en Werktuigbouw N.V., Kinderdijk, Netherlands of the Russian double screw steam bucket dredger Swirj on 20 October 1937. Main dimensions 67 x 12,60 x 5 metres x 3,60 (normal) metres, dredging depth 15 metres, bucket capacity 1.100 litres and dredging capacity 750 cubic metres/hour. Machinery consisted of 2-600hp triple expansion steam engines and 2 boilers with a heating surface of each 210 square metres were for driving screws and buckets.
