An item reported that the staff of the Bulgarian navy
was added to the Ministry of National Defence at Sofia, Bulgaria. The sailors
were recruited in the military districts and had to serve for four years.
Varna (Asparuk section in the past named Sev Sevmes)
was the major naval base of Bulgaria. It possessed also a dry dock for repairs.
Ruse was the major naval base for the Danube river
forces consisting mainly of small motor boats and launches with no heavier
armament as machineguns.
