Boiler exploded on board of the French screw steam aviso-transport Durance according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 30 June 1904

An item reported that on board of the French advice yacht Durance (1) underway from Papeete, Tahiti/French Polynesia towards Noumea, French New Caledonia a boiler exploded in which accident 15 sailors were killed. Another Dutch newspaper De grondwet dated 5 July calls her a cruiser and that the accident found place in San Francisco, USA.
