In a letter dated The Hague, Netherlands 4 February 1955 informed the Minister van Overzeese Rijksdelen the temporarily governor of the Netherlands New Guinea that the Royal Netherlands Navy would hand over 7 patrol vessels at that moment under construction in the Netherlands. The Minister of Navy wrote on 12 January his colleague minister that 7-2cm machineguns included mountings and 1.000 patrons for each barrels were free loaned. Just for the ammunition was to be paid via the commanding navy officer(CZMNG) in Netherlands New Guinea. Government personnel was to be appointed for the maintenance of the machineguns. Similar agreements were valid for all delivered machineguns by the CZMNG.
According to a letter of the Minister of Navy sent to the CZMNG dated The Hague 24 March 1955 were the 7 vessels under construction of the Tasman type (1) and to be armed with 1-2cm Oerlikon machinegun. The machineguns were during the trials to be mounted in board tested and afterwards disassembled, conserved and shipped with the vessel when underway towards the Netherlands New Guinea. The machineguns were free loan and for each barrel were 1.000 bullets available. The CZMNG was responsible for the training of the gunners and regularly inspections of the machineguns.
