Part of the machinery of the Dutch paddle steamship Zr.Ms. Soerabaia sold according to the Dutch newspaper Soerabaijasch handelsblad dated 26 July 1884

An announcement reported the public auction on Saturday 2 August 09.00 o’clock at the naval establishment at Surabaya, Dutch East Indies of 4 condemned steam boilers , engine parts and boiler appendages originally belonging to the Zr. Ms. steamship Soerabaia.(1)

Paddle steam transport, call sign GQVB, teak-built, laid down in 1865, launched during the night for a suitable tide in 1867, fitted out with new boilers at Surabaya, Dutch East Indies in 1877, guard ship at Surabaya 1 October 1885, decommissioned on 1 April 1892, condemned and sold for ƒ 17.550,00, while she was the largest ship ever built at that location was the slip lengthened, horsepower 220 hp, armament 2 (original 2 medium 30 pd)-4 (1885: 4-12cm guns for saluting) guns and a crew numbering 65-151 (1885: 123 Europeans, 28 natives) men.
