Russian armoured cruiser Dmitri Donskoi stopping merchant ships for examination papers according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië



An item reported that Balfour the British House of Commons informed that the Russian warship Dmitri Donskoi bunkered 600 ton coal at Port Saïd, Egypt and that her captain steam directly towards Cadiz, Spain bound for Kronstadt. In the three days following his departed he stopped however 6 merchant ships including two British checking their papers. In the opinion of the British cabinet should to every ship which used the coals she bunkered for another purpose than was the intention no coalbunker facilities more to be offered.(2)
